The reviews I've found from my research and the ability of having a rep(he repped mastercam for 20+ years and said the frustration almost caused him a heart attack in some intense programming) in by backyard per se are going to be huge selling points for me. And Siemens is more powerful if you let it be itself and program it accordingly.
SIEMENS NX FORUMS CODE
Other cam systems ether charge more for specific posts or struggle with the code differences. Especially in multi axis and multi tasking. However once you learn Siemens you will recognize the power. Despite what any rep may say about ease of use there's a great deal of difference between the two.
SIEMENS NX FORUMS ISO
If you are an ISO Fanuc programer it will cut down on your learning curve.

NX is a Siemens product they have the best post for Siemens period. This will save so much headcan on your end. it will be well worth it.your rep should have showed you the Siemens direct post. If you can afford it as well as the time it takes to learn. I strongly recommend NX cam for a Siemens machine. We are a small family shop and I feel like this 5th axis addition and Zeiss that we added two years ago will be a huge help in growing in my future. He is local guy and setups a lot of the larger more high end shop.
SIEMENS NX FORUMS SOFTWARE
The rep is going to be setting me up and walking me through the first two parts were are getting into production and then giving addition training that is built into the software price. We went from 2.5d Geopath programming (NO 3d stuff at all) to 3d Featurecam stuff (All 1 off expensive molds and cavities in huge blocks) and now to this advanced software. If you can get some training to learn "the flow", things become very intuitive.īillI'm looking forward to the swap. The operation navigator is a treat to use. Most new users bypass this and miss out on the power of the "master model" concept. You will love using assembles rather than importing big solids. If you can get this rep to sit with you a few days, it would be money well spent (I know no one likes to spend on training any more). The synchronous modeling works really well. One thing you will really like is there are no coordinate system vs tool axis issues to deal with. I have a feeling that after we get the first one going we are going to want another. We are going to get a 60 day period to learn the software, use it in the shop, and at the end if we don't like it then we don't buy it. I expect the learning curve to be a little steep but this software looks like the answer to a lot of my day to day problems. He does a lot of contract programming and doing advanced turnkey projects for the bigger shops around here.

I've used mastercam and the NX dealer was a mastercam rep for the last 19 years. QUASER MF400 with Siemens Control (IMTS2010) - Copyright © Siemens Industry, Inc. We spent the day at another shop yesterday that just got a hermle 5th and it had the Heidenhain control and they both look extremely similar. From what I understand the Siemens and the Heidenhain are extremely similar. I know of a local company that is also buying a 5 axis, uses NX, has good relations with the NX dealer but decided to go with heidenhain even though NX dealer recommended semiensWe are getting a Quasar Mf400 and the options are Siemens control or Fanuc. Sorry can't help with NX only demoed it but curious what 5axis you're getting and if the decision to get a siemens control was due to the NX dealer.
